GRØNBLÅ at the leading international trade show EUROBIKE
At the leading global trade show Eurobike (June 21-25, 2023, in Frankfurt, Germany), cycling industry-experienced newcomer GRØNBLÅ will debut comprehensive solutions for replacing conventional plastics. By using 100 % bio-compostable plastics in combination with new technologies in composting, companies can significantly reduce their environmental footprint and avoid hazardous microplastics. Jayu Yang, co-founder and CEO of GRØNBLÅ has 20 years of experience in leading positions in the bicycle industry and will explain the green revolution in presentations at Eurobike Start-up & Innovation Day and the newly created Sustainability Track.
The new visionary company GRØNBLÅ, with roots in the bicycle industry, is dedicated to developing sustainable solutions in bio-compostable plastic and their composting.
"We are all about revolutionizing packaging and accessories with 100 % degradable and compostable plastics," says Jayu Yang, co-founder and CEO of GRØNBLÅ.
With over 20 years of experience in the bicycle industry, she is aware of the challenges of dealing with plastics and packaging materials and the problems with disposal and recycling. "We're all aware that large amounts of plastic are used in the bicycle industry, and it's also clear that this means we have a big responsibility. The good news is, together we can solve the task of becoming much more environmentally friendly here!"
Anyone who takes a closer look at the issue of plastic waste knows that a large proportion of the plastics in use today are not recycled but end up in landfills or are incinerated. Some of it ends up in the sea via detours and becomes microplastics that are highly dangerous to animals and humans and remain in the environment for centuries. "We cannot turn a blind eye to the environmental consequences and must move into action when we know we can create sustainable alternatives" says Jayu Yang. "This was and is also my maxim with the founding of GRØNBLÅ two years ago."
The technologies and products for a green revolution are now here. Currently, GRØNBLÅ is working to create cradle-to-cradle solutions for partners, from consulting to assembling or manufacturing 100 % bio-compostable plastic products to closed product loops and dedicated composting facilities. With Bjarke Rasmussen as its new Managing Director, the company aims to further advance its solutions and strategies with partners in the bicycle industry.
